Our beautiful daughter, Lucy was born 23/10/25 and was immediately admitted to intensive care with breathing difficulties. Although Lucy’s condition had no treatment, the precious time we were able to enjoy with her before her passing on 21/11/25 was all down to the team at Freeman Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and CHUF.

The amazing team allowed us to hold her despite being connected to an ECMO machine (one of the first set of parents to be able to enjoy that opportunity).

The nurses and doctors became our little family during Lucy’s time there and helped us through the whole process. We will be forever thankful for their support.

We’d love to give back to the unit and the charity to ensure that the parents and children like Lucy continue to receive the same amazing care and support in the most difficult circumstances.
