Story
Hi, I’m Lucy.
I’m taking on 12 organised half marathons in 12 months to raise money for Compton Hospice.
This isn’t just a challenge for me. It’s something that’s come out of a really difficult and emotional time in my life.
My mom is currently under the care of Compton Hospice after a cancer diagnosis. Watching someone you love go through this, knowing what’s coming, and feeling completely helpless at times… it changes you. It puts everything into perspective very quickly.
What I have seen, though, is how incredible hospice care is. The kindness, the dignity, the calm environment they create, not just for the person who is ill, but for the whole family. It’s something you don’t fully understand until you’re in it.
So this is my way of doing something. Of putting one foot in front of the other when things feel heavy. Of turning something painful into something that can help others.
Some of these runs will feel strong. Some will feel really hard. There will be days where I’m tired, emotional, or questioning myself. But I will keep showing up, because this matters.
If you can donate, support, or even just follow along, it genuinely means more than I can put into words.
Thank you for being part of it 🤍
