I did it!!! And in 1 hour and 17 minutes! I am quite shocked about that. It was because I was thinking about the families that will be helped and of the support of all the other runners and crowds on the route. I must say I am finding it a lot harder than I thought to get to run 10k. So far (1.5 weeks out), I am at 8k. After Covid, I got out of the habit of exercise and it is tougher to get back into it than I had imagined. 😮🤦‍♀️ But I am determined to get around the course - not least because one sponsor has said she will double her amount if I do.

Growing Hope High Wycombe is a charity providing free therapy to children and young people with additional needs living in High Wycombe and runs in partnership with St James’s Downley. They bring hope to children through free therapy services. They grow hope for families where hope has been lost due to isolation or rejection. They share hope in Jesus because He brings hope even in the most difficult situations.

Through a range of therapies - including occupational and speech and language, and music therapy - they help children and young people discover their potential and thrive. They also provide support for the whole family, through groups and courses for parents, carers, and siblings.

Right now, NHS services are overstretched, and too many families are left without the help they urgently need. Growing Hope High Wycombe exists to bridge that gap, bringing practical support and sharing the message that there is hope for every child and every family.
