Story
In 2020, our incredible son was born with end stage kidney failure, and we went from the exhilaration of welcoming our baby into the world to terror of sending him into his first surgery within hours of him being born. From there, he's face every operation, every blood draw, every intervention, every procedure and life saving treatment was the biggest smile he can muster, and this year, we hope to see that smile lighting up the events he is taking part at the British Transplant Games.
The British Transplant Games are an annual sporting event celebrating transplant patients and donor families, being held this year in Sheffield, and our aim is to raise over £1000 to help get team Leeds to the games, and help all of his amazing team mates celebrate the gift of life that is organ donation.
Alfie is part of a team of around 40+ incredible children and young people, aged from 2 - 18, who have been the recipients of organ and bone marrow transplantation who compete at the annual event. After years of illness and overcoming hurdles in life, it is fantastic to see them finally able to take part in competitive sporting events, social sporting events and celebrating their gift of life and honouring their donors.
All monies raised on this page (and linked individual pages) will go into the Leeds Hospitals Charity Children's Transplant Games Fund 5M97.
