In line with previous years where we choose a local charity to fundraise for, this years charity choice is personal to us. Earlier this year James was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration / Age related macular degeneration which affects the sight in his right eye. This is a genetic medical condition which usually affects older people, resulting in blurred or no vision in the centre of the visual field, complete blindness or the loss of central vision. This will make it hard for him to recognise faces, drive, read or general everyday activities that we may take for granted.

For now, James is having scans every 4 weeks and monitored by his consultant. As yet, there is no cure.

Vision North Somerset help to support over 1500 people living with sight loss (anat any stage) across North Somerset. Your donation makes all the difference to the work they can do.
