We are the Saturday team who volunteer at Colchester Foodbank and we are going to be walking around Mersea Island (circa 14 miles) on Monday 4 May 2026 to raise awareness of the amazing work that the Foodbank does for our community and to raise money for this excellent cause.

Colchester Foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis. We operate a central hub in Tollgate Stanway and have 10 satellite centres across Colchester to ensure help is accessible throughout the community. Our aim is not only to relieve immediate hunger but also to tackle the underlying causes of poverty and hardship. Working with a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, we offer three-day food parcels tailored to household size, along with compassionate support, signposting, and referrals to partner services. Our project is about restoring dignity, hope, and stability to those facing financial crisis and food insecurity.
