Lucy's fundraiser for Paul Strickland Scanner Centre

Lucy Davies is raising money for Paul Strickland Scanner Centre

The Big Half 2025 · 7 September 2025 ·

We’re an independent charity working to improve lives of people with cancer and other serious conditions. We do this through medical research and by providing the best patient care using high quality scanners. Last year we scanned 18,000 patients giving them and their families hope for the future.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2018, my sister Charlotte was diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer. In 2024 after 6 years of operations, scans and chemotherapy treatment, Charlie was given the all clear. I’ll be running the London Big Half to raise money for the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, an independent medical charity that uses the highest quality CT, MRI and PET-CT imagery to detect cancer as early as possible, without these scans she may not have been diagnosed so early. The Paul Strickland Scanner Centre was also able to give her safe options for surveillance scanning while she was pregnant with my nephew.

Nothing can prepare you for the news, or what’s to come next. I’m so proud of my big sister and how she navigated a terrifying time with immense bravery and strength.

By raising money for the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre we can catch cancer early and make sure everyone gets the best treatment as quickly as possible.
