Story
In July 2025, I've challenged myself to take on the Cotswolds Mighty Hike in memory of my amazing mum and my lovely friend Gemma, who cruelly died this week. As I enjoy my 50th birthday and getting to be another year older, I couldn't think of a more meaningful way to celebrate than by giving back to the organisation that provided such compassionate care to them both.
Macmillan nurses were there for my mum when she needed them most, offering not just medical support, but genuine comfort and dignity during an incredibly difficult time. A group of my lovely friends and I are lacing up our hiking boots to raise as much money as possible for this incredible cause.
Did you know there are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today? A donation of £250 can fund a Macmillan Nurse for an entire day, providing essential medical, practical, and emotional support to patients and their families when they need it most.
As I prepare to take on this challenge for my 50th birthday, I'm asking for your support. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ensure that Macmillan can continue to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis.
Thank you for helping me honour my mum and Gemma, and help others on their cancer journey.
