Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.

As a lot of you may know, my dad who had been a strong person in my life had a stroke 2 years ago. It was a devastating time and we nearly lost him. He was given 3% chance of surviving and I was terrified to leave his side. Thanks to his resilience and the strength of my mother and her support he is still with us. But this long heartbreaking journey has been made easier with the help of the stroke association, the therapy and equipment they have given us has been imperative. My dad lost his speech and mobility when previously he was a very chatty, strong man who was always fixing things. With speech therapy and physio therapy he is starting to get these skills back.

Please help me thank them and make it possible for them to give further support to my family and other families affected by Strokes.
