March of the Day · 24 March 2024

Former Liverpool, Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers footballer Stephen Darby and close friend and British Forces Veteran Chris Rimmer have partnered together to launch the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. Stephen and Chris both have Motor Neurone Disease and have created a Foundation to create awareness of MND, to fund and assist research into the illness with the quest of finding a cure for the illness, to raise funds and offer grants to those with MND, as well as creating a network to help provide information and emotional support network for those diagnosed with the disease.

Story

On March 24th 2024, myself, Mum, Dad, Sister, Dave Jones, Cat Beattie and Tim Breaker are taking part in March of the Day for Marcus Stewart and the DarbyRimmer MND Foundation - which could possibly be their BIGGEST fundraiser yet! We will be walking 17.6 miles, starting at Wigan Athletic and ending in Liverpool! This will be a good old stomp for us, so any awareness, sharing or donations you could give would be greatly appreciated! 😊

We first met Stephen through Bradford City football club in 2011, and he has continued to be a close friend of my Dad’s (Steve Parkin) ever since. Our whole family think the world of Stephen, he is a special human being. The unwavering strength he has shown since his MND diagnosis has been inspiring. We are so proud to be a part of this, so we would love to raise as much money as possible for Stephen, Marcus, and all those effected by MND.

Donations of any size would be greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small each and every one counts towards this wonderful charity!

Thanks,

Lucy, Steve, Kate, Emily, Dave, Cat & Tim ♥️
