Story
For my lovely Grandma, Hannah Pickering 💖🌸 & for all of the people & families currently battling through hell (sending love your way if that’s you x)
This year marks 10 years since the angel on earth that was my gran sadly passed away. For some bizarre reason I have decided to sign up to run a 56km mountainous ultra marathon in the Lake District in September this year - aptly timed the month following my grans anniversary. For some extra finish line beans (& probs tears) I have decided to try to raise some money for Alzheimer’s society whilst i’m at it, in memory of my gran on this 10 year milestone.
Alzheimer’s society provides support to expedite diagnosis, helps people & families battling through this awful disease & even more importantly, helps to fund research in to future treatments - 1 in 3 people will develop dementia in their lifetime & provision of this support & funding is just so important.
56km will be an absolute beast of a battle for this Phoebe from friends running/lung capacity of an 80 year old/completely lacking in coordination gal, so honestly any extra penny of help in guilt tripping me to get over the finish line in the name of a great cause is massively appreciated & can help make such an important difference!!
… also taking applications for company on these training runs because omg 😅
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
