Story
Wow… how lucky am I 🍀
I have won a ballot place for the London Marathon 2026 for The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract! 🥹
The Hospice holds a very special place in mine and my families hearts and they provide outstanding care to those who need it, as well as providing support to the families who are losing/have lost a loved one.
When I was 5 years old my Grandad sadly passed away in the Hospice, therefore, I want to give something back to the Hospice as I know first hand how hard they work to provide the best service they can. As many of you are probably aware my Nanna Mo who has Dementia, I previously ran Leeds Half Marathon for Alzheimer’s Society, she was the loving Wife of my Grandad and this would also mean so much to her.. if only she knew 🥹 My family and I have volunteered at the Hospice over the years and their hard work does not go unrecognised.
It costs £5.4 million to run the hospice each year and they only receive 35% from the NHS, meaning that they have to raise around £3.5 million per year to continue doing what they’re doing.
To make it simple, it costs on average around £3,500 to care for a patient for 1 week, which includes health care, catering and house keeping.
I will be taking on the London Marathon 2026 for The Prince of Wales Hospice so please everyone… any donation at all will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you 🫶🏻
