Story
COPS provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their shattered lives.
"Your loss is a part of who you are but COPS helps you realise that it doesn’t define you. We are all one big family."
Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty.
My best friend Alex died on 29th April 2022 while on duty as a Roads Policing officer with Northamptonshire Police. Alex hated cycling (and most forms of exercise) but was a huge supporter of the Police Unity Tour before he died, driving our minibus and giving up his time to help out. He was also always the first to donate to my page every year since I started riding in the Tour in 2018.
I am honoured to carry a wristband bearing his name and to continue to raise money to support this incredible charity.
