The story of Skegness Day Centre is one of community, care, and long-term support for older and vulnerable people in the Skegness area.
Founded in 1985, Skegness Day Centre was established to provide a welcoming place where older people and adults with disabilities could enjoy companionship, activities, nutritious meals, and practical support. What began as a local initiative has grown into a well-respected community charity serving people across the Skegness area.
The centre is located on the Skegness Hospital site on Lincoln Road in a purpose-built building. It supports people with a wide range of needs, including:
Older adults who may be isolated or lonely.
People with physical disabilities or reduced mobility.
Individuals with learning disabilities.
People experiencing mental health challenges.
Those living with the early stages of dementia.
A typical day at the centre includes:
Freshly prepared three-course lunches.

Gentle exercise classes.
Bingo and games.
other social activities designed to promote wellbeing and independence.
