Story
Hi Everyone!
Lucy and Sophie here,
We’ve both decided to once again brave Tough Mudder UK, and this time, we are raising money on behalf of Alzheimer's Society.
As a team, on this gruelling 10 mile obstacle course, we will be dragging each other through mud, pushing each other over obscenely tall things, running hand in hand throughout several miles and both becoming acquainted with many exposed electrical wires… good thing our friendship has lasted over 14 years!
We are running in memory of Sophie’s Nainie, Siriol Wynn-Jones, who passed away on the 10th of March, 2022, due to alzheimers which ultimately resulted in her full time care whilst suffering with dementia. She was the most joyous, gentle, caring individual who meant a lot to many people. She was someone who, against all odds, maintained optimism and approached life with gusto and laughter, and that is exactly how both of us are going to tackle Tough Mudder this year.
Alzheimers is a devastating incurable illness that robs people of their memory and their independence. It affects many families and their loved ones worldwide. That is why we are raising money for this incredible charity that funds research into the cause, cure, care and prevention of dementia and also actively helps support those who are currently affected with dementia and provides further support for their families and loved ones also.
Any donation, no matter how little, will be greatly appreciated. We will be doing Tough Mudder on the 19th October 2024. Feel free to come along and watch and laugh at how muddy we will be. Thank you all for your support.
Lots of love, and thank you for reading X
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
