Lucy's fundraiser for Sibling Support

Lucy Gash is raising money for Sibling Support
In memory of Liam (my brother)

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Sibling Support is the UK's sibling bereavement charity. We want a world where every bereaved sibling is seen, heard and supported, but there's still a long way to go. Your backing helps us provide specialist and sibling specific bereavement resources and advice to people across the country.

Story

Two challenges set to mark 20 years since I lost my big brother Liam!

Last year for what would’ve been Liam’s 40th birthday I completed 40 challenges raising awareness & money for sibling support.

Next year marks 20 years since he left us in tragic and quick circumstances whilst backpacking Australia. He was 22 with the world at his feet.

I will aim to complete again the Great north run 2025 (half marathon)

But the huge challenge personally Is for me to double that distance and complete the London marathon 2026- thank you sibling support for granting me this opportunity! I have tried for 5-6 years to get a place so I am honored.

Liam is a huge miss even so many years on and leaves an irreplaceable void to me and my family.

I owe it to him to continue to raise awareness of Marfan syndrome & to champion the sibling support charity who are achieving brilliant things for bereaved siblings, organizing direct support, communication links and resources to both professionals and siblings suffering loss.

please donate a small amount to support my target of £2,500. Anything is appreciated!

Sibling Support believe's that siblings are overlooked when it comes to grief, so we help them, and those around them, navigate their way through tough times.

Every year around 4,000 young people die in the UK before they’ve had a chance to live their lives to the fullest. Beside many of those is a sibling.

The death of a sibling at any age is detrimental.

Your donations will help create a world where every bereaved sibling can find strength and joy through compassionate support.
