You know when you say once is enough? It turns out I am a complete sucker for punishment and marathon number two is actually happening...New York 2023 (all 26.2 miles of you!)...let's do this!

Whilst I am not running NY on a charity entry, it is entirely self funded, I couldn't let this opportunity slip by to ask you all to dig down the side of the sofa or check the pockets of your winter coats for a few coins (or notes!) towards a charity whom I think does incredible things for people who are living with and beating cancer: Wigs For Heroes, set up by an esteemed former colleague of mine - Kaz Foncette.

Wigs for Heroes are a grass roots charity located in the heart of Tottenham, North London. Their aim is to support people undergoing cancer treatment in the local communities in the UK. This could be in the form of a wig grant*, pamper bags, cancer support workshops, events/meet ups, online support groups, coffee club socials or simply via the provision of helpful online resources and video tutorials.

Seeing the way in which the personal touch of this charity lifts up those people who are going through some of the most challenging times - no matter who they are, how difficult it may be for them to talk about their illness or how lonely they may feel - has always resonated with me - particularly during Covid, the innovation and determination to stay alongside those fighting cancer has been remarkable.

Everyone's lives are touched by cancer in some way - and those who can, should - by which I mean, that every single penny that you can spare, will ensure that I keep going for the full 40,000+ steps and enable Kaz and Wigs for Heroes to make fighting cancer, just a little bit less lonely.
