On Saturday 20 June 2026, I’ll be taking on this incredible challenge alongside my amazing colleagues from the X-Ray Imaging Department at Heartlands Hospital to raise funds for our department and support staff wellbeing.

Working in X-Ray means I see people at some of the hardest moments in their lives every single day. Behind every scan is someone waiting for answers, facing uncertainty, fear, or pain. While we do everything we can to provide compassionate care, the environment can often feel overwhelming and clinical for both patients and staff.

That’s why this fundraiser means so much to me.

We’re hoping to raise money to make our department feel more welcoming, calming, and comfortable — not only for the patients and families who come through our doors, but also for the hardworking staff who give so much of themselves every day caring for others.

Even small improvements to our space can make a huge difference to morale, mental wellbeing, and patient experience.
