Kevin and Lucy Wray is raising money for Evelina London Children's Charity

Team: Evelina London VIPs @ Transplant Games 2025

Wray Family Fundraising: Kev Cycle to Southampton, Family Tuck Shop/ Bake sale

Our amazing childrens transplant team, the Evelina London VIPs, are taking part in the national Transplant Games! Donations will be allocated to the Paediatric Transplant Fund, and will support the Evelina Transplant Games team.

Story

The Evelina Children's Charity provides an opportunity for so many children under their care. Their support has allowed us and many other VIP (Very Important Penguin) families of children impacted by Chronic Kidney Disease and Kidney Transplant to attend the British Transplant Games.

The British Transplant Games happen annually and anyone in the UK who has donated or received any type of transplant can participate. Participation isn't always about who wins, its about recognising the journey to get there and celebration of the life of those who donate and receive. Its about connecting with other families who just understand, support for the siblings who are the cheerleaders and its a reprieve from what can be incredibly full on. It is an incredibly special and emotional event which we value so, so much. Unfortunately it is very costly. We hope to raise some money to allow others to experience the healing power of the games that has so helped us.

We have been fundraising throughout the year and will continue into next so far:

1.) Kev cycled from the Evelina to Guildford as part of the Evelina Annual Cycle ride

2.) We ran a stand at the school fair with children competing to see how fast they could complete an obstacle course

3.) Lucy and A completed the 2.5km donor run at Blenheim Palace.. dressed as a penguin

We are now in to September and I will be Abseiling 160ft down St Thomas' hospital on the 20th of September..... dressed as a penguin. We'll be there as a family so please do come and please feel free to donate (please).

We will continue fundraising after the abseil with some events like bake sales but this is TBC.

Thank you for reading, we really appreciate it.

(Penguin is the name of the clinic the children are cared by, so they are VIP's)
