Me and my Mum have been running together now for a number of years. Often speaking about doing a marathon together. So, being the loving daughter that I am I bought us both an early Xmas present in November, a place in the Manchester Marathon! Since the new year we have trained hard through covid infections, injuries and the general demands of work and kids. We’ve put our trainers on and gone out running come rain/shine/hail/snow/gales….. sometimes all in the same run! Though it’s been tough it’s also been lots of fun, I know me and my Mum feel so lucky to be out running together and we both look forward to the time we spend together. On our runs we have spoken about fund raising but I think we have been a little scared of committing ourselves to a cause and then maybe not making it through the training. But now that the marathon is TOMORROW 😱 we have made it! As much as I love running with my Mum, I also love my job (and the special nurses I work with) so myself and my Mum would like to dedicate our run to Derian House, a children’s hospice in Manchester. They do amazing work with children who have life limiting and life threatening illnesses, and their families. We would really appreciate any donations, big or small, to help us get round the 26.2 miles.
