Story
On March 12th of 2022 my amazing sister Lucy Cahillane left this life for what we can only hope is a serene and fitting higher plane where her energy can be used for the betterment of those in need, both past and present.
In the past few months we have have also had to say goodbye to Lucy's rock, our wonderful cousin Chloe Graham who lost her fight to ovarian cancer on Christmas Eve. In the following days my partner Radka also had to say goodbye to her kind and loving father Rudolf Nemec who passed on 27th December.
After some time to assess and regroup its time to return to our ethos of - 'No matter what happens, we must use these emotions and energy for positive change wherever possible in this world'. As such we are embarking on a 4 day hike up to 15,000 feet in the Peruvian Andes to raise money and awareness for the fantastic David Nott Foundation, a charity Lucy had introduced us to through the book War Doctor, an amazing read.
The David Nott Foundation was established with a simple mission: to provide surgeons & medical professionals working in the most hostile environments with the skills & the confidence to save more lives. At the frontlines of these crises are the doctors & medical professionals who work tirelessly, often against the odds, to help help victims & preserve life. Yet in countries where resources are scarce, and access to equipment and training is limited, these doctors are left to face the most challenging of circumstances, ill-equipped & unsupported.
