Hi Guys!

I am going to be running the Great North Run 2026 in memory of a very special lady.

My niece Freya came into our lives in October 2023. Unfortunately, in January 2024, life changed dramatically for her and her family, Steve and Melissa. Freya suffered from a cardiac arrest and spent a lot of her life in and out of hospitals and hospices. She was an absolute fighter, kicking ass and taking names for the next 1.5 years. Whilst she was with us, she touched many people's hearts, with her infectious personality, beautiful curly hair and killer side-eye!

Freya passed away in September 2025. Steve and Melissa had a wonderful ceremony to celebrate her life, during which they gave thanks to Martin House.

Martin House supported Freya and her family throughout her life, making sure she had the opportunity to live it to the full.

Martin House provides family-led hospice care, free of charge, for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses across West, North and East Yorkshire. Thanks to your generosity, Martin House can be here when families need them the most.
