Story
I’m having my second surgery for endometriosis next week 🎗️
Before my surgery, I’m walking 10K for the 1 in 10 to help raise awareness, support others living with this invisible illness and raise funds for Endometriosis UK.
Every step I take represents the millions of women living with this condition.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women assigned female at birth (as common as diabetes) yet so many people have never even heard of it.
A condition where cells similar to the lining of the womb grow elsewhere in the body. It can cause severe pain, fatigue, painful periods, painful sex, fertility issues, and bowel or bladder problems. It’s an invisible illness that causes chronic pain and huge disruption to everyday life. A whole body disease that is still widely misunderstood and underfunded.
There is currently no cure for endometriosis. Treatment often involves managing symptoms, medication, or surgery, and for many of us, surgery isn’t a one-time fix.
It took me 14 years to be diagnosed and unfortunately this is not uncommon, the average diagnosis time is 9 YEARS.
If you’re able to donate £10 (or anything at all), I’d be so grateful. Your support helps fund vital services, education and research and helps ensure those living with endometriosis feel seen, heard and supported.
Thank you so much 💛
