My dad (Wayne Barnes), was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2024. This was devastating for us as a family, and was sucy a worrying time. After many different scans/tests we found out that his cancer was contained and with an operation to remove the prostate and lymph nodes, that he would hopefully be okay. Thank goodness, he has now had the all clear.

However, not everyones story is as fortunate as ours and we have spoken to many people who have been fortunate like him, and many that have not. I really want to raise money and awareness for this amazing charity and awful disease. As Prostate Cancer is much more common in men than we think.

Since dads diagnosis its all we have heard about.

So to do this.. in 2026, I will be raising money for Prostate Cancer UK through events. So far I have:

. Full LCW Wales (2.4 mile swim on the Friday, 112 mile bike on the Saturday and a 26.2 mile run on the Sunday).

. GV 70.3 Triathlon (1.9 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run)

. Ironman Wales (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a marathon to finish).
