Three Peak Challenge

Luke Farmer is raising money for Autism Unlimited

Three Peak Challenge · 28 May 2026

Autism Unlimited believes in a world of possibilities for people living with autism.

Story

On 28th May 2026 (weather permitting), I’ll be taking on the UK National Three Peaks Challenge with my long-standing friend Jordan.

We’ll start in Scotland, climbing the mighty Ben Nevis, before driving south to tackle Scafell Pike in the Lake District. After that, we’ll make one final long drive into Wales to climb Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa).

The goal is to summit all three peaks within 24 hours, a challenge that pushes both endurance and determination. It’s a tough test—around 40% of people who attempt it don’t complete it—but we’re ready to give it everything we’ve got.

I’ll be raising money for Autism Unlimited, an incredible organisation that supports autistic people across the South. In particular, the charity runs Portfield School, a local school to us that provides specialist autism education for students aged 4–19.

Every student at Portfield School has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and a diagnosis of autism. The school focuses on helping students build the skills, confidence and independence they need not only during childhood, but throughout adulthood. Their work prepares young people for college, work placements, apprenticeships, and independent or supported living, giving them the best possible foundation for their future.

update- We’ve just completed another training hike—this time taking on Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons. The aim was to really test our endurance, so we drove from Wimborne, climbed the mountain, headed back down, and then drove home the same evening, finishing the journey through the night to see how we coped.

Overall, it went really well and we’re pleased with the progress. We did push quite a fast pace on the climb, which showed us we’ll need to manage our energy a bit better to avoid burning out too early.

All in all, a really positive and worthwhile training run—and another step closer to being ready

Any support for this challenge—and for the amazing work Autism Unlimited does—would be hugely appreciated.
