DBS staff from the Birmingham office have chosen to support DSUK due to the personal connection within the business.

Old fashioned myths / stigmas that are associated with the condition remain and cause hurt, discrimination and frustration with individuals and all people involved.

Awareness of the condition is very limited, and we are hoping the long term fundraisers will help promote awareness and support the people who really need the extra help, from new born babies and families all the way through to adult life.

A Statement from Luke Fearn (senior project manager) who's daughter was born with downs syndrome

"Amarah, is one hell of a girl who is funny, witty, strong willed and a little bit of a madame.

Living with Amarah does have its challenges good and bad, which can test us to our limits, but we wouldn’t change her for the world. So, I am grateful of the previous support and anything we can manage to do moving into the future.

People with DS are no different to anyone else, what we take for granted, is a challenge for them due to to their condition. However hard the task maybe, these great individuals have the same hopes and dreams as the rest of us!"
