As some of you may already know, I will be running the London Marathon 2024 in support of the Electrical Industries Charity.

This charity raises much needed funds to offer a wide range of services to people in need within the electrical industry and their families. These services include counselling, financial help and general support to help get people back on their feet and to change people’s futures.

They provide practical support and advice for a wide range of people, but most importantly, I feel, to those suffering with emotional or mental health problems or to those experiencing ill health or disability.

For over 100 years, EIC has recognised that providing individuals with access to the right support is the catalyst for creating better workplaces and industry communities. They have offered a helping hand to tens of thousands of people, and last year alone supported roughly 30,000 industry colleagues in varying circumstances.

1 in 2 of the cases supported by EIC were assisted with their mental health, and over the last 4 years they have championed positive change and to open up the topic of mental health within the sector. They have provided Mental Health Awareness training to over 10,000 sector employees and also trained over 5000 industry colleagues in Mental Health First Aid.

This is a cause that I feel is really important, especially with my role as a business owner in the electrical industry. I’d be really grateful over the next few months for your support with fundraising and joining in with events to support this charity.
