Someone close made me aware very recently of the sad plight of the Galgos & Podenco breeds in Spain. They are used as hunting dogs and not protected under Spanish law. After hunting season ends thousands are killed and in some instances treated in an awful inhumane way some of the things I have read up on are to upsetting to repeat on here but you get the picture they need our help, if we can save one of these dogs from a premature death It will all be worthwhile to me.

I am raising money for a small UK based charity called Project Galgo below is a small excerpt to encapsulate their mission

’We are a small UK based, volunteer led charity working with 4 galgo rescue shelters in Spain. Our dogs travel to the UK and then go into foster homes here. We have an amazing network of foster homes across England, Wales and Scotland who provide these dogs with the vital bridge between shelter life and their furever home. Many of these dogs have been abandoned, abused and neglected and have never lived in a home before. Our foster homes provide them with a safe place to decompress, adjust to home life, begin to heal from the traumas of their past and build confidence and trust in humans again. Whilst dogs are in foster we cover all costs for food, vet bills, medication, supplements, high quality safety kits including escape proof harnesses and GPS trackers and fleeces and coats for the chillier months. Any funds raised allow us to help even more dogs’
