Story

🚴‍♂️ Two Blokes. One Tandem. 24 Hours. What Could Possibly Go Wrong? 🚴‍♂️

Hi everyone!

Me (Luke) and my friend Dane have decided it would be a great idea (questionable judgement pending) to attempt a sponsored tandem bike ride from Liverpool ( Southport ) to Hornsea in under 24 hours.

For those who might not know, I started losing my vision at the age of 4 when I was diagnosed with RP (Retinitis Pigmentosa). In 2012 I was officially registered blind, and now in 2026 I only have a very small amount of vision left.

That’s why we’ll be doing the ride on a tandem bike, which means Dane has taken on the very important job of steering… and making sure we don’t end up in the North Sea.

We’re doing this to raise money for Sight Support, an amazing charity that helps blind and partially sighted people live more independently and get the support they need.

It’s going to be a long ride, a lot of pedalling, and probably a lot of questionable life choices along the way but it’s all for a brilliant cause.

If you’re able to support us with a donation no matter how big or small it would be greatly appreciated.

If you can’t donate, a share would help loads and might even keep Dane motivated enough not to abandon me halfway.

Thanks for the support! 🚴‍♂️
