Luke's running the London Marathon for London Orphan Asylum, Reed’s School

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
This year, I’ve decided to take on an incredible challenge: running the London Marathon to raise money for a cause that’s close to my heart — the Reed’s School Foundation.
Any donations to help reach my goal with be hugely appreciated and thank you for taking the time to visit this page!
For over 200 years the Reed’s School Foundation has been working with vulnerable children to help inspire confidence, give hope and realise true potential through excellent educational provision, nurturing pastoral support and aspirational activities. This work continues today.
Foundation pupils at Reed’s will often have been exposed to a range of social and emotional challenges that no child should endure. Names below have been changed (*) in these two brief profiles:
- Noah* lives with his mum in temporary social housing. For the past three years he has moved multiple times and as a result has attended several different primary schools. Noah’s own mum was subject to abuse and neglect as a child and Noah has had social services intervention and experience of living in a refuge. His primary school (an outreach school) identified he was a quick learner and would benefit from the stability of a boarding environment and access to specialist counselling on offer at Reed’s.
- Sarah* lives with her dad, brothers and grandmother and was introduced to the Foundation by her previous school. Sarah’s mother suffered from mental issues for most of her life and become a recluse eventually not being able to engage in family life. Sadly, Sarah’s mum died of a heart attack which meant that Sarah did not attend school for a while. Sarah will benefit from the comprehensive extra-curricular programme, that Reed’s has to offer, alongside the specialist grief counselling.
Every pound donated to the Foundation helps ensure that children like Noah and Sarah can overcome their challenges and build brighter futures. It’s an honor to support this life-changing work — and with your help, we can make a real difference.
Running 26.2 miles will be tough, but it’s nothing compared to the obstacles these children have overcome. Your support will not only keep me going on race day but, more importantly, it will provide hope and opportunity to some of the most vulnerable children in society.
Please consider donating — every contribution, big or small, will help change lives.
Thank you for your generosity and encouragement!
