Cambridge Half Marathon 2025
Campaign by Cardiac Risk in the Young (RCN 1050845 (England & Wales), SC052581 (Scotland))
This popular event offers runners an exciting tour through the beautiful city of Cambridge. The course is fast and flat, making it ideal for those aiming to achieve a personal best or looking to complete their first half marathon.

Story

As many of you will be aware, on the 5th September 2024 whilst on his way to work, at the age of 31, Max suffered a fatal cardiac arrest and medical staff were unable to resuscitate him both on the scene and at the hospital.

Max was a legend of the Bishops Stortford Rugby Club, captain of the Chindits, as well as a dedicated son, fiance, colleague and friend to everyone and anyone that he graced with his presence. He was simply one of the best there was.

To date, £47,000 has been raised for CRY in Max’s name (via another Just Giving page). I want to keep his memory alive and do what I can to add to the fantastic effort you have already put in. I am therefore running the Cambridge Half Marathon on 9th March, so please support this amazing cause in Max’s name and keep the funds rolling in.

Anything you can spare will be massively appreciated and help motivate me to complete the course. I currently have broken ribs, so training is non-existent!

Thanks in advance

Luke

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.

By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
