High Atlas Trek 2025 - Amnesty UK · 24 June 2025 to 1 July 2025 ·

A team of students from the Bangor University are raising money for Amnesty International UK and climbing Morocco's High Atlas Mountains in 2026. Students are aiming to raise £1,940 each to support vital human rights work

Story

Hi, my name is Luke and I am raising money for Amnesty International UK by taking part in the Morocco High Atlas Challenge. I'll be trekking through the Atlas Mountains over the course of five-days, facing extreme temperatures and challenging terrain, eventually climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa. I’ve always had a love for adventure and a dream to travel the world. My dad was a zoologist and travelled the world on expeditions to places humans have never been before. He passed when I was very young and it makes this trek even more meaningful to me.

Your donations will help Amnesty International UK expose human rights abuses in the UK and all over the world and to campaign for freedom and justice. Amnesty International UK work on a wide range of issues including women's rights, refugee rights, the human rights impact of climate change and in support of individuals whose rights have been violated.
