My Story:
**Supporting The Sick Children's Trust**
Our beautiful twins, Edie and Edward, were born by C-section at 37 weeks. At just 10 days old, Edward became critically ill, and we rushed him to A&E, where he was taken straight into resuscitation. After being transferred by blue-light ambulance to the RVI in Newcastle, he was diagnosed with a collapsed lung and pneumonia.
We spent two weeks at the RVI, over an hour from home. During this incredibly difficult time, The Sick Children's Trust gave us a place to stay at Crawford House, allowing us to remain together as a family and stay close to Edward throughout his treatment.
Having somewhere for our eldest son, Jude, to call home while his baby brother was so poorly meant more than we could ever put into words. Keeping our family together during the hardest time of our lives made an unimaginable situation just that little bit easier.
We're raising money to support The Sick Children's Trust so they can continue providing this lifeline to other families facing the same unimaginable experience. Every donation, no matter how small, will help another family stay close to their child when they need it most.
Thank you so much for your support.
The Sick Children's Trust:
No child should face hospital without their family by their side. The Sick Children’s Trust provides a vital ‘Home from Home’ where families with a critically ill child in hospital can stay. It’s somewhere they can feel reassured and safe, cook a meal, rest and shower to face the day ahead and best support their child’s recovery
Without us each year around 3,500 families would have to travel long distances, sleep in uncomfortable hospital chairs or pay for expensive hotels just to be by their sick child’s hospital bedside. Not only do we alleviate financial worries but we also help the mental wellbeing of the families we support.
