I'm running my first marathon, in the best city in the world, Manchester on the 19th of April 2026.

I've decided to run the marathon, to firstly prove to myself that I can run that far at 40 (i'm turning 40 in September 2025), and secondly to help raise money for a local Greyhound rescue centre.

I volunteered at Makants back in 2018, before I started working every weekend and have raised money for them in 2024 when I ran my first 10km race at Tatton Park.

Our greyhound Lucy is an absolute queen, and although she's not a Makants greyhound, I know they do amazing work all across the North West for greyhounds, so I want to raise funds for Makants so more greyhounds get the life they all deserve.
