Story
Hello!
In April next year I’ll be taking on the challenge of my first marathon to raise money for Moorfields Eye Charity, the main charity supporting Moorfields Eye Hospital where I have worked for the last two years in the Paediatric, Strabismus, and Neuro-Ophthalmology Department as a Clinic Coordinator.
I’ve had the opportunity to interact with hundreds (perhaps even thousands) of patients and their families. Through these conversations, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that the Moorfields Charity has had on both patient care and the lives of so many individuals.
Every Tuesday afternoon, I coordinate the Paediatric Genetics Clinic under Professor Michaelides. It has been incredibly rewarding to see how Moorfields Eye Charity’s fundraising efforts have directly contributed to advancements in gene therapies, helping to expedite the treatment process for patients.
The money raised will support life-changing eye research, deepen our understanding of eye disease and help bring new treatments to patients.
Why donate?
- Every six minutes, someone in the UK starts to lose their sight.
- Over 2 million people across the country live with impaired vision - with that number set to double over the next 30 years.
- They are the leading charity in the UK funding research into eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration and innovations in patient care to help patients worldwide.
- They invest in innovative education programmes to help train the next generation of eye specialists.
I believe that people’s sight matters, just like the Moorfields Eye Charity.
Any donation towards my goal would be gratefully received and go towards changing lives for patients at Moorfields.
Thank you!
