Why I Am Raising Funds

Dear kind-hearted donors,

My beloved mother is fighting a painful and relentless battle against advanced-stage lung cancer (T3N0Mx Stage III B PS 1). Her health has been declining for years, but the situation has reached a heartbreaking point. My mother’s weight has drastically dropped from 50 kg to only 28 kg, and every meal is a struggle as she vomits almost everything she eats. Watching her suffer like this has been unbearable for me and my family.

For years, my mother sought treatment in small hospitals in our hometown of South Tapanuli, but no one could identify her illness correctly. Many doctors misdiagnosed her with tuberculosis, forcing her to take medications that only worsened her condition. This misdiagnosis robbed her of precious time and caused her immense suffering.

In early 2024, with renewed hope and improved finances, I brought her to larger hospitals in Pekanbaru. There, her true diagnosis was finally revealed, but the resources available were insufficient to provide her the care she desperately needs. She was sent home without any further treatment, leaving us devastated and without a clear path forward.

I have exhausted all my savings and sold nearly everything I own — my car, my land, and anything of value — to afford her treatment so far. But it is not enough. The costs of chemotherapy, specialized treatments, medications, and nutritional support are overwhelming. As much as I have tried, I cannot do this alone.

I am turning to you, to anyone with a compassionate heart, for help. I want to give my mother the chance to fight this disease with dignity and hope. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us closer to giving her the care she so desperately needs.
