THANK YOU so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page as I attempt to run both the London & Berlin Marathons this year to help raise money for a fantastic local activities programme.

I volunteer at a wonderful local café in Easton on the Hill called The Birch Tree Café. The café, set up by the T-21 Charity is partly staffed by young people who have Down’s Syndrome and it's aim is to provide a safe environment where the young staff members can develop workplace skills and confidence, thereby improving their employment prospects and independence.

As well as serving the many customers in the café, the team members take part in a wide range of supervised additional activities inside and outside the café and this is what I would like to help fundraise for.

The Activities Programme includes cookery classes (to help with independent living), growing vegetables and flowers in the garden, crafting and creating handmade gifts in the cafe's new workshop. The team also regularly socialise together with film, disco, bowling and pizza nights as well as trips to local theatres. Do have a look in the gallery above for photos of some of their activities.

These activities are so beneficial for the team members, helping their mental and physical wellbeing, building confidence and independence, whilst also giving them the opportunity to widen their experiences and fulfil their potential.

Any of you that have visited the café will know what a wonderful, happy and welcoming place it is, full of fun, hard working team members and I would love to raise as much money as possible for their Activities Programme as well as help fund new projects in the years to come.
