Lunas Junior Great South Run

Steven Threader is raising money for Miss Kick Foundation

Great South Run · 18 October 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Miss Kick was founded in June 2018 by 21 year old Grace Vella, a former Liverpool and Manchester City player. Despite the incredible life experiences playing sport gave her when she was younger, it also often made her feel like she was treated differently, received fewer opportunities and was negatively stereotyped because she was a girl who wanted to play football. This journey inspired her to launch the Miss Kick brand, to address these issues and bring about social change through football. Part of the Miss Kick brand is Miss Kick Foundation, a charity with BIG ambitions and a mission to empower HER to compete, play and love the game, without limits! Over the past few years, Miss Kick the brand has made significant strides in raising awareness around the issues of inequality and accessibility for girls to play football and other sports. The Miss Kick Foundation will continue to build on this important work, collaborating with partners across the sector in driving initiatives that make a real difference to young women and girls, both on and off the pitch.

Story

Hi everyone. My name is Luna Threader and I am 9 years old. Football has been a massive part of my life since I was born. My mum and dad have taken me to football and I have become very passionate about playing for Meon Milton and following Pompey home and away.

To some football is only a game but it has helped me make memories and develop my confidence throughout my life. I can't think of anything better then playing with my friends or freezing cold in a stand up north.

I want all girls to be able to have the opportunity to have these experiences too.
