Defy Dalby is brought to you by Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, a charity committed to helping everyone affected by lung cancer.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I’m taking on this challenge in support of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, a charity that plays a vital role in supporting people living with lung cancer and driving forward life changing research.

This is a cause that means so much to me, not only because of two much‑loved family members whose experiences has deeply touched our whole family, but also because of the work I do every day as a Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist.

I see first hand the courage of patients and their loved ones—their strength, their fear, their hope—and I witness the profound difference that compassionate care, early diagnosis, and ongoing support can make.

Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only UK charity dedicated exclusively to lung cancer. Their work helps ensure that:

✨ More people are diagnosed earlier

✨ More research leads to better treatments

✨ More families receive the support they desperately need

✨ More voices are heard in breaking the stigma that still surrounds this disease

Every donation, no matter the size, genuinely helps. It supports real people, real families, and real futures.

If you’re able to contribute, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you can’t donate right now, even sharing this page makes a meaningful difference.

Together, we can support patients, honour those we’ve loved, and help create a better, brighter future for everyone affected by lung cancer. 💙

Thank you so much for your support.

— Lydia & my very supportive husband Simon, who will be running this with me :)
