I am thrilled (and a little nervous!) to share that I'm stepping way out of my comfort zone and participating in a "Strictly Come Dancing"-style competition to raise funds for Ups and Downs.

This worthy organisation provides invaluable services to children with Down syndrome and their families, helping them reach their full potential.

This cause is personal to me because of Charlie, my friend's Lindsey & Lee's little boy, who has Down syndrome. Charlie is a bright, loving, and truly special child who has brought so much joy into the lives of everyone who knows him. Children with Down syndrome may face physical challenges like heart defects, hearing loss, or delayed development, but their openness, kindness, and incredible spirit teach us so much about love and resilience.

Ups and Downs supports families like Charlie's by offering guidance, community events, education resources, and advocacy to help children thrive.

I’ve chosen to channel my efforts into this competition because I believe in making a difference. Dancing isn’t my forte, but the chance to raise much-needed funds and awareness makes every step worthwhile. My dance partner and I are learning a variety of routines, and though it’s a challenge, it’s been wonderful to see my friends smile at the thought of me taking this on! The live show is at Wicksteed Park on the 22nd March!

I hope to not only raise funds but also bring more attention to the incredible work of Ups and Downs.
