Story
We first heard about Da'aro Youth Project during a lecture in our Global Health and Social Medicine degree. Sarah, the director of the charity, shared the vital work and impact that Da’aro Youth is having in the community.
Dedicated to helping young asylum-seekers and refugees from the Horn of Africa, the staff and volunteers not only advocate but also support these often unaccompanied youth in settling into their new environment. Through initiatives such as Injera clubs and casework support, it provides a safe, supportive environment that helps these young people overcome barriers and pursue a hopeful future.
This work is challenging and often lacks sufficient funding, yet it is vital for the well-being of young refugees and asylum seekers.
Grace and I would greatly appreciate any contributions as we run our first 10k race to support the important efforts of the Da'aro Youth Project and the motivation they inspire daily.
