My name is Lylah Drummond-Clarke and I cancer researcher at the University of Sussex working towards my PhD. I also work parttime at  St Gilesmedical in London and Berlin as medical writer.

I’m taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for Forgotten Patients, Overlooked Diseases, a charity working to improve the lives of people living with enduring symptoms and conditions that are too often misunderstood, overlooked or difficult to diagnose.

For many patients, not having a clear diagnosis can mean years of uncertainty, repeated appointments and feeling that their symptoms are not being heard or taken seriously. Forgotten Patients is working to change this by raising awareness, supporting education and research, and helping to give patients a stronger voice.

Running 13.1 miles will certainly be a challenge, but it’s a challenge I’m proud to take on for such an important cause.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us continue this work and make sure that forgotten patients are forgotten no more.
