My name is Lylah Drummond-Clarke, and I am a postgraduate researcher in molecular cell biology at the University of Sussex, and a medical writer at St Gilesmedical in London and Berlin.
On Sunday 11 October, I’m running the Royal Parks Half Marathon, alongside Amar and Jo, to raise money for Forgotten Patients, Overlooked Diseases (FPOD)!
It’s going to be a challenge, but worth doing for a cause I care about. FPOD supports people who can find themselves overlooked by the healthcare system — those struggling to get answers, be listened to, or have their symptoms taken seriously. Millions of people often spend years searching for answers.
I think most of us know someone who has experienced that frustration or have experienced it ourselves, which makes the work FPOD is doing particularly important to me.
