Fundraiser for The National Association For Children Of Alcoholics

Lyle Davies is raising money for The National Association For Children Of Alcoholics

National Three Peaks Challenge · 28 June 2025

1 in 5 children in the UK are affected by their parents' alcohol problems. They are often frightened and isolated, with no one to turn to for help. Nacoa responds by providing a free, confidential telephone, 1-2-1 chat and email helpline.

Story

*UPDATE*

The 24hr Three Peaks pushed me way harder than I expected. I got about 4/5 hours sleep across the whole weekend, wrecked my knee halfway through Scafell Pike, and by the time we reached Snowdon I honestly didn’t think we’d finish. Climbing over rocks in the dark with a leg that wouldn’t bend definitely didn’t feel very “positive” at the time.

But somehow, we pulled it off - we ran pretty much every part of Snowdon that didn’t involve climbing boulders. It was brutal, but we finished the whole thing in under 24 hours!

This wasn’t just a physical challenge for me. I did it to raise money for Nacoa, a charity that supports children and families affected by alcoholism - something I’ve been through myself. Trauma doesn’t just go away, but I honestly believe you can use it as fuel - to do something bigger, something that helps someone else. That’s what this was about.

Massive thanks to everyone who donated or sent support - it’s meant so much!

And the biggest thank you to my best mates James, Will and Devo - couldn’t have done this without you. Thanks for taking it on with me and getting us through it.

Hello!

I’m Lyle, and in July, I’ll be taking on the 24hr Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Nacoa, the National Association for Children of Alcoholics. Nacoa’s work is essential, offering a lifeline for children and loved ones impacted by alcoholism in their families. As someone who has experienced these challenges firsthand, I know how much support like this can mean.

I’ve set an initial goal of raising £1000, but every pound helps keep Nacoa’s helpline going, providing much-needed support to children, adults, and families.

Donations through this page go directly to Nacoa, ensuring that your contribution makes an immediate impact.

Thank you for any support you’re able to offer. Together, we can help bring support and hope to those facing the challenges of alcoholism in their families.

Big love
