Lyme Regis Town Council's Abseil for Weldmar Hospicecare

Lyme Regis Town Council is raising money for Weldmar Hospicecare

Abseil for Weldmar · 18 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Weldmar Hospicecare needs to raise £26,000 a day to continue the specialist end of life care we provide in Dorset, both in the comfort of patient's own homes and at our IPU in Dorchester. 20% of our costs are met by the NHS, the rest comes from the generosity of our local community.

Story

🐘 Help Us Support Weldmar Hospicecare! 🐘

On Sunday 18 May 2025, brave members and staff from Lyme Regis Town Council will be taking on the *Abseil for Weldmar challenge* — scaling the cliffs of Portland to raise vital funds for Weldmar Hospicecare.

This local charity provides compassionate care and support to patients and families across Dorset — and now, we’re doing our bit (and facing our fears!) to help them continue their incredible work.

We’re especially excited to be part of this challenge as it coincides with the end of the Stampede by the Sea art trail — a spectacular herd of beautifully decorated elephants stampeding their way to West Dorset later this month! It’s a wonderful celebration of art, community, and charity — and we’re proud to be involved, supporting the event by housing several elephant sculptures along the seafront and throughout the gardens.

🌿 Every donation, large or small, will make a difference. 🌿

Please support our team as we take the leap for Weldmar and help us raise as much as we can for this fantastic cause.

Thank you for your support — together, we can make a real difference to local families when they need it most.
