13.7 Miles Relay Swim from Eddystone Lighthouse to Plymouth Hoe · 6 August 2025

We are My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and we're absolutely committed to our goal: A World Free of MND. We will leave no stone unturned in the relentless pursuit of this goal as we fund, guide and enable the smartest, most efficient MND research to catalyse a cure for motor neuron disease.

Story

After completing a relay swim across the English Channel last year, my friends Claire, Simon, and I have decided to take on an even tougher challenge—swimming from the Eddystone Lighthouse back to Plymouth Hoe.

This 13.7-mile open-water swim will push us to our limits, testing our endurance and resilience against unpredictable conditions. We may even be the first relay team to complete this swim in skins (no wetsuits!), making it an even bigger challenge. So, the training—especially the cold-water acclimatisation—begins!

Initially, I wasn’t planning to fundraise, but after a few people suggested it, I’ve decided to use this challenge to support a cause that means a lot to me and, especially, my fiancé Tony—My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, which is dedicated to tackling Motor Neurone Disease with the ultimate goal of finding a cure and achieving "A World Free of MND."

If you’d like to support me and this incredible charity, any donations would be hugely appreciated. Stay tuned for updates as we train and take on this adventure! 🏊‍♂️🌊💙
