Story
My beautiful mum Lynda Coffin, sadly passed away last October. She was the most amazing, strong, bubbly, caring person so ever grace this earth. She touched the hearts of everyone who met her. My mum loved Guide Dogs and their passion to improve the lives of those with sight loss.
My mum had a special bond particularly with my friends Guide Dog Harrison. To the point where she stopped a queue she was serving just so she could quickly say hi to Harrison whilst they were fundraising at the place she worked. My mum battled cancer for months but still managed to stay positive and keep a smile on her face. She had her own plush Guide Dog which she aptly named Mini Harrison, he was by her side all day every day until her final moments with us.
It would mean so much to me, my family and my mum who is watching over us, if we could raise enough money to support the charity she loved the most and to name a puppy after her in memory.
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.
Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
