Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike 2025 - full marathon · 21 June 2025 ·

Set yourself an exciting new challenge and hike a full or half marathon around the iconic Giant's Causeway to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Story

In June 2025, we have challenged ourselves to take on the Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike- which is a full length marathon.

Our team consists of Lyndsay and Rachel Loughins, Rachel Linton and Lynne Fitzsimons. We all have our own reasons for taking part in the challenge…which you can read a little about below if you wish!

Lyndsay Loughins

“I’m participating in the Mighty Hike in memory of my lovely mum. The outstanding care provided to mum by the haematology team and the Macmillan staff at the Ulster Hospital was truly remarkable. They were with her and us throughout her journey- all the highs and lows, and right up until the very end. We will forever be grateful for their incredible support and kindness. They are an exceptional team. Thank you for your support!”

Rachel Loughins

“I’m taking part in the Mighty Hike in memory of my incredible mother in law, Cindy and to thank the wonderful professionals who supported her.

I am proud to have worked for Macmillan for the past 12 years and I see how far every penny goes towards helping people living with cancer, and to making cancer care better for the future. Thank you so much.”

Rachel Linton

“In February 2024 I lost my amazing Dad to bowel cancer. It’s a devastating disease that affects so many families, and the impact it leaves behind is immeasurable. To honour his memory, I’m taking part in the Mighty Hike to raise money for Macmillan who provide care, support, and guidance to those facing cancer. These services offer a lifeline to patients and their loved ones while they navigate their cancer journeys.

Any donation big or small will help families like mine get support when they need it most. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity x”

Lynne Fitzsimons

“We have all been affected by Cancer, I have personally lost family to the disease, and I have friends who have fought it, and friends who are currently fighting it. I’m also walking in support of my team mates who have more recently lost a parent to Cancer.

Our Mighty Hike Team walk for them all…”

We’d be so grateful if you could help us reach our £1000 target. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support. There are currently 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.

Thank you! ❤️
