Story

I am taking part in Ardgowan Hospice's brand new event for 2026, the 5 Ferry Challenge. This is a personal challenge as I seldom cycle more than 20km and this is 80km in potentially windy and rainy West coast Scotland. It's a lot further than a little tootle round Cumbrae with an ice cream stop in Millport. Taking in Arran, Argyll and the island of Bute I am pretty scared about this challenge, hello dodgy knees , hills etc so please give what you can to spur me on.

I also strongly believe hospices deserve better funding for their absolutely crucial services within Inverclyde and Scotland as a whole.

I will be taking on the island-hopping adventure covering 52 miles of cycling starting at Troon before making my way back to Wemyss Bay.

It costs £11,000 each and every day to run the hospice and it is donations like yours that have enabled Ardgowan Hospice to provide services to the people of Inverclyde with life-limiting illnesses for over 40 years.

We need our essential to continue so please give what you can to help me reach my target and beyond!

Thank you.
