Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) is a rare neuro-degenerative disease. It affects balance, coordination, mobility, fine motor skills, and fatigue amongst other things. By supporting us you will help us to deliver our vision of supporting people with FA so that they may have the best possible lives.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. I am excited to share that I will be participating in the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run Half Marathon on October 5, 2025, to support Freddie's Ataxia Fund. This cause is close to my heart as in 2019 one of my closest friends' daughter was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) Since then the family has worked so hard to support and raise awareness of this condition which is a rare genetic condition that effects balance, coordination and mobility. In 2025 a charity was established to provide financial grants to contribute to the costs of adapting to life with FA. Based in Dundee, Scotland, the charity was founded by the family and friends of Eilidh to raise awareness and funds for those affected by FA.

Every step I take during this marathon represents a step towards hope and change for individuals battling this challenging condition. Your support can make a significant difference in their lives. By donating through JustGiving, you are not only contributing to a worthy cause but also ensuring that your details remain safe and secure. JustGiving will send your donation directly to the charity, making it the most efficient way to help.

I have set a target of £500 to help Freddie's Ataxia Fund continue its vital work. Together, we can inspire change and provide much-needed resources for research and support. Please consider making a donation today; every contribution counts and brings us closer to our goal.
