Story
I am fundraising for Rockinghorse Children's Charity, a Brighton based charity which supports sick and disabled children across Sussex. I am very proud to be one of the trustees for this charity.
They support babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alex Children’s Hospital where I work as one of the matrons and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.
Since 1967 they have supported nearly a million children with lifesaving medical equipment, support for families, environments and spaces for children and additional staff.
So back in the 1980s as a young teenager I used to swim for Margate swimming club and that’s what made me think that this maybe the charity event for me. Swimming continuously for 60 minutes in a 50 m pool.So wish me luck 35 years later in wearing my swimming costume, hat and goggles in public and I’d appreciate any support you can give!
